Levyosn is a Yiddish song ensemble, based in Boston, that plays traditional music and original songs presented in intricate arrangements with rich vocal harmonies. The band takes its name from the Ashkenazi Hebrew word for the leviathan, a mythical sea creature traveling the world’s oceans collecting songs, krill, and dreams. The group, which will share works from their brand-new album, Levyosn’s Dream, is led by singer-songwriter Adah Hetko (vocals, guitar) and arranger Lysander Jaffe (violin, vocals). Levyosn also features Lexi Ugelow (piano, vocals, guitar) and Raffi Boden (cello, vocals).
